About RUE - NYC Rescue Dog

RUE, a lovable 58lb pitbull-mix, was saved from death row at New York City's high-kill pound, but her rescue story cannot have a happy ending until a loving forever home is found for the shy, gentle senior. RUE's foster mom, who's also the one who saved her life, writes about RUE as follows: 'Miss RUE is a warm, loving, loyal and sweet 8-yr-old companion. Despite her history of being a neglected and abused mama dog, she only shows you love. RUE has the sweetest and warmest eyes, and always wants to do her best for her family. She is your daily shadow, always making sure she is right by your side, cuddled and nuzzled into your soul. She has yet to understand the life of a real dog - running around daily, noshing on snacks, sleeping in a warm bed, and not only showing love, but receiving love. With the excuse - 'not enough time,' RUE was dropped off at the city kill pound after 8 years with her family which included young children, and where RUE also lived with her sister. RUE has known only neglect and abuse, and that sitting quietly in the corner will keep her out of trouble, but in spite of all she endured, RUE is vibrantand loving. RUE seeks to be the apple of your eye, and longs to experience the freedom of the world while adventuring with you at her side. RUE loves car rides, cuddles, and especially enjoys bath time. RUE is excited to explore the outdoors, but likes to snuggle on the couch with you just as much.
