Meet Chester This handsome young pup is Chester. Sadly, Chester has lived a life of neglect and abuse before coming to our no-kill shelter. After spending a few weeks in our care, Chester is beginning to blossom. Chester looks to be a Shih Poo (Shih tzu/poodle). He's thought to be anywhere from two to four years of age. He weighs 12-15 lbs. Chester arrived with overgrown and matted fur and an uncertain demeanor. To alleviate Chester's pain, we had a groomer come in. His fur was worse than thought and she had to shave him down to get all the mats off. She then clipped his long nails short. The relief little Chester felt was transformative. He could now move pain-free, and he felt good. Chester is a gentle and sweet soul. His demeanor is incredible. He loves attention, snuggles and lap time. He dances around and wags his little tail. Chester loves being with people, he is super friendly. He likes other dogs, especially Tippy, and we'll check him out with cats. We think Chester is house-trained. He is well-mannered. He walks easily on a leash and loves going places. If looking to welcome this adorable little nugget into your heart and home, get your application in. He is the dog of a lifetime and will be your best companion. If interested in welcoming Chester to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
