Meet Rollo! Age: 1 years. Breed: Labrador retriever. Size: approx 75lbs. Training: leash trained, doing well with house training. He knows sit and lay down. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to dogs. His owner said he does fine with cats in their presence, but they don't trust him alone with the cats. Good with men/women/kids? Yes. Personality: playful, active, friendly! Reason for rescue: Rollo lives on a farm, but plays a bit rough with the small farm animals - he is not aggressive, but he has unintentionally harmed them. Because of this, he needs a new home. Rollo needs a fenced yard. Rollo is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Rollo recently has a stay-cation and this is how he responded to another environment: Rollo is a good boy. He's sweet and very smart (picked up 'lay down' in one afternoon). He respected 'leave it' when we told him not to eat our other dogs food and he was not food aggressive or resource guarding at all. He takes treats gently and will wait his turn when made to sit. He played fetch when prompted but is not obsessive like a lot of labs. He looks to be told what to do or be petted, if not resting - but he isn't overly energetic the way one might expect from a one-year old lab. The only time we really saw him barking was when he was restless and wanted attention, like if he wanted to play and our dogs weren't having it or if he was very tired, like right after a long walk. He isn't leash-trained to heel or walk beside you, but also isn't bad on a leash. He did not bark at or react to people or dogs walking by. He likes to meet new friends. He rode in the back seat of the truck well. He went through drive-throughs without barking or lunging for food. And he was good in the house, respected furniture rules, and was generally a good citizen. We did not leave him for an extended period or crate him, but we let him roam freely and sleep where comfortable and he was not destructive. He seems like he would respond well to someone who is retired but active and wants a constant companion or with a larger pack of dogs.' If you are interested in adding this sweet boy to your family, please message for an adoption application. Adoption fee: $125.
