Meet Rufus Rufus is a wonderful little low-rider with a big personality. Rufus was surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him. He's been a joy to have since arriving to our no kill shelter. Rufus is a handsome little guy. He is short in stature, with a beautiful brindle coat, adorable ears, expressive and engaging eyes and a happy smile. Rufus weighs 28 lbs. and is 8.5 months old. He is a snuggly love bug. He loves to cuddle with his people. He has a happy personality. He's a pup with so much life and love in him. Rufus loves people, kids, other dogs, and cats. He loves to run and play. He loves chewing on his toys. He does well in a home and is almost house-trained. He is crate trained. Rufus walks well on a leash. He travels okay in a car. He is a little timid in a car but doesn't seem to get car sick according to his previous owner. This pup is a gem and a real sweetheart. He is the dog of a lifetime. He just walks around making everyone feel better. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
