***Bengal Breed Experience Required*** ***Only-Cat Syndrome*** ***Child 12+ with Bengal Experience may be OK*** Ishi is a sweet, beautiful, and regal 5-year-old queen of a Bengal. She lived in a single family household with a very calm child (pre-teen now), another Bengal (male) a cat-friendly dog. For years, the cats in the home co-existed with little to no drama - but suddenly one day, things changed. Ishi began to bully the resident male Bengal. With the cooperation of Ishi's owner, we moved Ishi to a loving foster home that had no other pets. As much as the foster wants to formally adopt her, he has frequent travel that would impact Ishi's stability(Bengals are known to suffer from separation anxiety). We know that Ishi will thrive in a home where she is the absolute center of attention. Ishi is the true definition of regal, in the way she carries herself and behaves. She is a 'typical Bengal' in the sense that she loves to 'do what she wants to do.' When she is bonded with you, she wants to be in a room with you, but will choose if / when she wants to cuddle. She loves climbing trees and surveying her world from the top of a climbing tree, perch, shelf or hammock. She is very athletic and loves playing with wands, finding hidden treats, playing in giant boxes, splashing around with running water, and just being an inquisitive cat! She has only been an indoor cat, but can be curious about the outdoors before quickly running back inside. She may be open to walks on a secure harness - we're not sure. Like most Bengals, she allows her humans to pick her up and carry her around on occasion - however she prefers to move to places / areas at her own pace vs. being a 'carried accessory.' As far as children go, she has always been great with calm children. She would NOT enjoy being in a household that is too chaotic, loud, being pursued by excessively grabby hands, or being chased. Ishi has received regular routine Veterinary care, and has no underlying health issues. She also went to the dentist in September and had a tooth removed. It is recommended that her future Veterinarian check her annually to ensure her overall health and dental health is monitored. We truly believe that Ishi would do best in a household as the solo animal and with a person or family who can be patient with her during her transition and understands the physicality / needs / experience with Bengals. She is a real alpha and independent queen! She really is an amazing cat who is incredibly loved. We will wait for the right family to come. She deserves no less! Ishi has been fully vetted throughout her life. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and has good litter box skills, overall. She is currently eating freeze dried raw food and would definitely do well on a raw food diet. If you are interested in adopting Ishi, please fill out our adoption application https://bengalrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/ (Note: we are looking for a local adopter - she cannot be transported)
