About Willow

The time has finally come. Willow is ready to be adopted! Sweet Willow has come so far in her time with me. She has transformed from a sick, starving stray to a beautiful dog, ready for her family. Willow is a 3-5 year old Lemon Foxhound, 55 lb, but should weigh closer to 60. She has doubled her weight since we rescued her. Willow is a sweet, loving goofball who just wants to be loved. She gets so excited at food time, she bounces! Willow would love a family with another dog that she can play with. She does ok with cats, but she wants to play with them too, so she may do better in a home without them. Willow also seems to think she might be a little dog. For that reason only, she would be better with a family with older children. Willow loves to be outside in the sunshine! But she has learned that being inside on a soft dog bed or couch is pretty good too! Willow walks well on a leash, but can pull a little if she gets excited. Willow was probably an outside/hunting dog, so we are still working on her house manners, but she is learning! She does know 'sit', & 'gentle' for treats. She may be hard of hearing, or just a stubborn hound, but since she is super food motivated, she will be easy to train. Willow LOVES to do all of the sniffs! She would excel at scent work. She is crate trained but prefers to be with her foster sister on a dog bed. Willow has been spayed, had 3 masses removed, all benign. She had a dental, but rescue will cover the follow up. Willow is heartworm positive, but her treatment has started. If you weren't aware, this is no longer a death sentence. She has no symptoms! Loves riding in car! Willow is with Love Mutts Rescue.
