Roo was surrendered by his family with claims that they could no longer afford him. Among initial challenges we were presented with: ' Severely underweight at just 15lbs ' Skin irritation and alleged dermatitis which the vet confirmed would not need lifelong treatment ' Nos well socialized, so he would bark at humans and animals, as he was not used to being walked ' Potty training, as they taught him to pee on pee pads, so teaching him to go outside like a normal dog ' Understand commands. He knows 'sit' but that's it. Roo was neutered 1 months ago. He has changed a lot from when he came to our rescue, however he still has a lot of work and patience ahead of him and that is the type of family we are looking for for him: someone who understands that it's a process and a lot of changes for him, and that he was never trained or stimulated by his old family, so his new one needs to be patient and willing to work with him as he learns. He eats homecooked turkey meals, which has worked the best for his skin and physique, and he now weighs 20 lbs. Every day is a new day for him to learn, and we are excited to see him flourish once he gets adopted by his new family.
