Stewart is a 6 year old treeing walker coonhound mix that we rescued from the side of the road 6 years ago. He is a very sweet dog with a gentle temperament. He enjoys sniffing around in the backyard, walks, napping in the sunlight, playing with toys, and cuddling. He is extremely trainable and can sit, lie down, sit pretty, roll over, and spin, etc. He will bark if someone walks by, but isn't loud like many other hounds. He is scared of thunderstorms, so a nice warm home is needed for him so he can cuddle up to you when it's storming. He is up to date on all shots, on heartworm/flea prevention, potty trained, and neutered. He is slightly food aggressive and would do best in a home with older children. Ideally, a home with no dogs would be best but with work, he could be integrated into a home with another dog. He lived with us with our older lab for the last 6 years harmoniously, we just feed them separately and that tends to work. We have a toddler and another baby on the way and did not want to end up in a bad situation since food and snacks are always out in our home. This is a really tough decision for our family and we want Stewart to have a better, more relaxing life.
