About Ray

Hi there! I'm Ray! I'm a 2-year-old handsome fella, and I'm a Great Dane and German Shepherd mix. Yep, I'm big - like, extra-large big - at a solid 109 pounds! But don't let my size fool you. I'm a big ol' softie at heart, with a lot of love to give. I have a gorgeous gray/black merle coat that turns heads wherever I go. I'm kind of a showstopper, if you ask me! I ended up here because my previous owner had to make some tough decisions due to life changes and, unfortunately, that meant I needed a new home. I'm originally from South Carolina, where I spent my first couple of years getting the hang of life. I have lots of energy so I would love an active home! We can go on long walks and then snuggle up on the couch afterwards. Sounds like Heaven if you ask me! I will need continued training because I mean really, who doesn't??! But don't worry, I'm really smart, a quick learner, and I'm eager to please so training is a breeze with me! Now, when it comes to the little humans, they're fine. I really have nothing against them. It's just I'm a big guy and sometimes I can be a bit of a rough player - especially with my mouth! I wouldn't want any kiddos to get hurt so I'd do best in a home with much older children or adults only. Here's the thing...cats...they're super exciting to chase. When I see one, I just want to RUN full speed towards them. So yeah, as much as I hate to admit it, a home without cats is best for me. Unless of course you don't like your cat...then I'm your guy! I'm kind of hit or miss with other dogs. I'm ok with some dogs but I tend to be kind of awkward, so other dogs don't understand me. I just don't always remember that I'm a big guy so I try to play with them and then they get hurt and then they get upset...it's a whole thing. So it's probably best that I just hang with my person/people and leave the dog playing to other dogs that can be more appropriate in play. I'm super excited to meet you! I promise, once we get to know each other, I will be your friend for life!
