About GOLDIE - NYC ResQ Dog

GOLDIE is a 2-yr-old, 50 lb, Red Nose Pitbull-mix who was either lost or abandoned on the streets of New York City until animal control thugs catch-poled and dragged her to the city's high-kill pound, where she was placed on death row, but not before a volunteer fell in love with her and noted the following: 'Abandoned and left to face the unknown, Goldie has every reason to be scared but instead is proving just how resilient and full of love she is. This red-nosed beauty was brought to the pound under harsh conditions but despite the overwhelming chaos of the loud, unfamiliar pound filled with strangers, she remains sweet, social, and eager to connect. From the moment she arrived, Goldie showed her affectionate nature - jumping up gently to seek comfort, leaning in for pets, and soaking up any bit of kindness that came her way. Even with everything she's been through, she's loose, wiggly, and happy to interact - a true testament to her incredible spirit. Goldie even greets other dogs with a friendly wag and a soft body.' Thankfully, a 501(c)(3) rescue group saved GOLDIE's life at the last minute and placed her in a loving foster home, where she has been thriving for the past few weeks. GOLDIE's foster mom, who's so proud of her, says, 'Goldie loves life! Whether she's sitting next to me outside, just watching the world from a distance with such fascination and wonder, or she's playing with the other dogs at the park, running like a Gazelle with a big open mouth smile the whole time!' GOLDIE knows all the basic commands, and will even respond to the word, 'Slow,' and do exactly that, if she's walking too fast for her foster mom to keep up! GOLDIE's foster says, 'I especially love the way she sits so calmly while I fasten her harness, and the way she waits so patiently when I prepare her food in the kitchen, where she eats so peacefully next to her two cat siblings, each at their own bowls.' So GOLDIE now awaits an adopter who can give her the loving forever home she truly deserves.
