Tug was born in May of 2023 and was purchased from a breeder in Bend. Due to the desire to give him company, I also took on his sister. In November an unfortunate incident took place on the neighboring property. Tug and his sister were used to running the four acres that we felt was entirely secure. That November evening, Tug and his litter mate were able to get through a very weak/accessible point of the neighbor's fence. Once they were on my neighbor's property, the neighbor dog (male) and Tug began to fight. During the struggle, my neighbor endured a MINOR injury to his hand. The neighbor is not interested in securing his side of the fence, so the chance that the dogs will come into contact again remains. Since then, South Coast Humane has successfully rehomed Tilly, Tug's sister and she is doing amazingly well with her young vibrant family. Now, Tug needs his opportunity to have a chance to have his freedom again. Currently Tug is confined to a small, secured, fenced area while I am at work. He is not thrilled to be back there at all, and you can hear his whines and wants to be with his person. I am a single household and work at least 10 hours daily. When I am home, Tug is with me in the house and is my 'shadow.' Tug is limited in his activity as he is unable to safely run our acreage and do what he loves to do which is run and play. Tug does not have experience with small children, so I would not encourage a household with littles. Tug has had a struggle with other male dogs as he is definitely the 'Alpha' of the roost. An ideal fit for Tug would be a couple without any other dogs and no small children. Tug would also benefit from that single person that is able to stay at home most of the time and is looking for a very loyal companion. Tug is established with a local veterinarian and is current on all of his vaccinations. Tug is also neutered and has no medical condition. Tug is an energetic teenager that is looking for consistent TLC. I hope that the right and deserved fit for this handsome boy reads this and sees the potential that he has to offer.
