About Jewel

(DOB 01/13/2024) Jewel, is your girl if you are looking for a sweet and sensitive pup that would make a good family dog with a heart of gold then look no further!! Jewel absolutely adores people, especially kids, and gets along great with both dogs and cats. She's the perfect mix of playful energy and laid-back snuggles-she loves nothing more than simply being in the same room as her favorite humans. Jewel is eager to please and picks up on training quickly, thanks to her love of food and treats! Teaching her new tricks is a breeze, and she's always excited to learn. Currently living in a townhome with her foster family, Jewel gets her exercise through multiple potty breaks and fun playtime with her doggy foster siblings. She's a quiet girl who's happy just hanging out, and as long as she gets her daily playtime and walks, she'd do just fine in an apartment or a home without a fenced yard. Jewel likes a routine and is probably not up for daily, new adventures; she's happiest hanging with her family (both 2 and 4 legged)! She's already potty trained, crate trained, and loves to chew on bones or play with her favorite toys. Jewel sleeps in her crate at night and during times no one is home; however, is free ranging otherwise. Jewel can be a little shy and needs a little extra time to adjust to new environments, but once she feels safe, she's an absolute gem. Jewel does have a small quirk if there are other dogs in the home when it's mealtime, she likes her space and eating in her crate where others can't 'snatch her snacks' is best. She may give them a little growl to tell them to back up, and it's just her way of protecting her treasures. She also enjoys collecting her toys and gathering them into her crate. Jewel's a sensitive soul who may not be ready to join every adventure just yet, but she'll happily wait at home, wagging her tail, ready to shower you with affection when you return. As part of Jewel's $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
