Rusty is a two-year old, neutered Australian shepherd looking for his forever family. He is up to date on shots, potty trained, and crate trained. Rusty had a rough start to life as his previous owners didn't understand the needs of owning an Aussie. I took him in to help him find a better life and to prevent him from going to the shelter. He was never abused, but he didn't get the opportunity to thrive and socialize as a young puppy. He is behind in basic training and obedience and is currently enrolled in a training program in Central Indiana. If you wish to know the details of where he is receiving his training, please reach out and I'd be happy to talk to you further. Other than being a little behind developmentally (due to no fault of his own) Rusty is a huge cuddle bug. He loves affection and would be content to receive pets all day long. Despite his size, he thinks he should be a lap dog. Outdoors Rusty is your typical Aussie that loves to run, play, and sniff all the good scents. He is still learning what toys are but I'm sure he'll catch on fast. Before going off to training he lived with a two-year old female Aussie whom he got along with well and had a great time playing with. He would do best with a fenced in yard as his recall is a long way from being reliable, but it is not a requirement as long as you can still fulfill his physical and mental needs. I would love to keep in touch with anyone that adopts him. Please reach out if you can give this sweet boy the loving home he deserves.
