Every time we post Marni we receive a ton of applications but we need people to very carefully read her bio before submitting an application. Marni is a beautiful, sweet dog but she needs a home where she is an only dog or where she is with a younger dog her size or slightly bigger that will not be aggressive or care if she gets in her face and steals their toys. She is young and loves to play and we are looking for an active family for her to grow up with. She should have a home with a fenced yard. We do not know how she would be with little kids, although she has been around older kids and been fantastic. She does not like being confined. She needs work on potty training. She is only adoptable within a 2-hour drive to Pensacola. If this sounds like a good fit for you, please submit an application so we can get this baby home!!! MARNI is an 11 month old, 14 pound Pomeranian Poodle mix surrendered to us because her owner was no longer able to take care of her. MARNI is an absolutely gorgeous lap dog. She is a happy, tail wagging girl who loves to play and gives kisses. She loves her people and will resource guard them against other dogs (especially if they are eating people food). But with people she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. MARNI would be best as an only dog getting the full attention of her person but she would also be ok in a home with a passive, playful dog who doesn't mind when she steals the toys. She will not be good with one who is more alpha and will argue when she wants something that is theirs. She has not learned to share! We have not had her around cats and she should not go to a home with little kids, although she would probably love older kids (10+) who would play with her! MARNI is still very puppy-like and has good energy. She loves to roll around and run and play ball and will bring it back. She does fine on a leash and is good in the car. She is well behaved in the house. MARNI is working on potty training and has learned 'go potty'. She gets a lot of praise when she goes potty outside, but does not ask to go out. She does have some accidents inside but it's usually when her foster family is not home. She gets taken out often and does well with a routine. A home with a fenced yard is required for her to continue her training and so she can run and play freely because she loves it so much. MARNI goes nuts over spray cans, the vacuum, and blow dryers. She will bark and howl at them. An apartment may not be her best setting. At night MARNI sleeps in the bed cuddled up with her foster family. If she has to go potty during the night, she will kiss her foster mom's face to wake her up so she can put her down and take her outside. MARNI has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
