About Cara

Kindly let us introduce you to Cara (Kar-a) an old Irish name meaning 'little friend.' Cara at four months old is only 12# so she will be a smaller BC. This girl has been getting a solid start at basic commands such as sit, down and come at her foster home. She has made great headway on house training but still needs work on 'telling' that she needs out. Her recall in a fenced yard with little distraction is about 90%. She is currently living with one of her littermates so has plenty of rough housing every day. She has been going on puppy appropriate length hikes twice a day for the past couple weeks. Cara has been exposed to adult, friendly dogs and was positive and playful with them after a couple minutes of introduction time. The one cat in the neighborhood has not interested her yet. She has not been exposed to farm animals yet. She has met neighborhood kids who came over to meet her. She rides in the car in a crate without a problem. This girl wants to be with people. She has this cute way of scooting along the kitchen bench like a toddler learning to walk to see what the people of the house are doing. In her foster home, friendly visitors are coming daily to meet her and her sister. After a couple minutes of hesitation, she is happy to melt in their arms. When surrendered, the HUNAH volunteer saw her mom, a pure bred border collie with medium length hair and a sweet personality and was told that the mom had not been used for herding. The person who surrendered her, said the father was a brown border collie. She's current on vaccines. Adoption fee is $400 and she is in a foster in Rhododendron, OR.
