Brady is a dapper dude who likes to look and feel his best. On spa day he welcomes the pampering and is a perfect gentleman for baths and manicures. He also gets an A for walking on a leash, going car rides, and seeing his vet. From mixed origins, Brady's stocky, 40-pound body is a crowd pleaser. He loves cuddling, getting attention, and playing tug. He runs fast and can jump up to five-feet high. Agility anyone?! He is also curious and likes to observe and explore. Since he displays some herding dog and prey drive traits, it's best Brady be on a leash at all times or in a yard with a tall stockade fence. Brady is well-behaved, has good recall, and has no guarding issues. He's also potty-trained and can be left to roam the house. He would love having regular walks on a leash or lots of active playtime in a fenced yard. He really is a wonderful dog! Reason for rehoming: Brady and his little human sister are both three-years-old and extremely attached to each other. As they both grew a little older, Brady's dander began causing his chum problems. It is now a serious issue that causes severe rashes and welts. The family has tried everything to reduce the allergen, but nothing has helped. Realizing Brady can no longer live with them has been a roller coaster of emotions, but rehoming is necessary. To help an adopter, his current owners have spent a lot of time and effort training Brady in basic skills, but also to be more confident meeting strangers. Before training he was quick to 'tell' people and dogs to stay away! After training, his behavior is so much better. He remains cautious with new people, both on and off leash, but after just a minute he relaxes and nicely accepts treats. During recent home renovations, he was a champ with the repairman! Brady is looking for a loving home with adults who 1) are experienced dog owners, 2) will keep up with his skills, and 3) allow him slow introductions to strangers. Adults only or a family with calmer older kids. He is best as an only pet. Though he likes some dogs, he is reactive to others.
