About Lanikai

Looking for a Loving Home or Foster for Lanikai This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write, but I need to find a new home for my best friend, Lanikai. Kai is an 8-year-old black lab, Australian shepherd, and border collie mix-at least, that's what the adoption papers said when we brought him home 6 years ago. He's about 60 lbs, full of energy, and always ready for an adventure. About Kai Loves adventure - hiking, swimming, running on the beach, and especially playing in the snow. Fetch is life - if he could, he'd chase a tennis ball from sunrise to sunset. Thinks he's a lap dog - he's got a sweet, affectionate side and loves being close. Loyal and independent - he doesn't have separation anxiety and is happy to relax at home after a good dose of exercise. What He Needs: An active home that can give him plenty of exercise and attention. A kid-free environment (teenagers and older are fine). A home without other dogs, unless it's a very chill and submissive companion. Someone who understands alpha dog traits - Kai likes to be the boss. Health & Care: Up to date on all vaccinations and healthy (recent vet check-up in Feb 2025). We'd love to find a 12-month foster while we're on a family road trip. We'll cover all expenses during this time. If a foster isn't possible, we're also open to a permanent loving home. This decision is absolutely heartbreaking for us, but we want to do what's best for Kai. Please share this with friends, family, coworkers, and your community-help us find the perfect place for him.
