About Rio

Adoption Fee: $300
Australian Cattle Dog / Chihuahua
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Rio Rio and his siblings were orphaned and left at a high kill shelter. What?! We rescued them and brought them to the safety of our no kill shelter so we could give them a new beginning. These roly poly 12 week old puppies are gorgeous! Each puppy has unique blue/green eyes, a burnt auburn colored coat and the sweetest personalities. Rio has the most amazing eyes, one blue and one green, and he has a long tail. He's almost completely red except for a smudge just above his little liver nose, and very subtle speckles on his feet. Rio is the largest of the five puppies. The puppies are calm but Rio is the calmest so far. They all love snuggling and we spend a lot of time socializing them so they know what love feels like. We think they are Australian cattle dog (red heeler) and chi mixes. They are small and don't seem to be growing fast (could top out around 30lbs.) These pups are amazing, not mouthy, very gentle, fun, affectionate, curious and ready to find their furever homes. If you love a heeler mix, and a cute little wrinkled face, Rio and his siblings are just about perfect. Get your application in at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter ([email protected]) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
