About Violet

Meet Violet Violet and her siblings were orphaned and left at a high kill shelter. What?! We rescued them and brought them to the safety of our no kill shelter so we could give them a new beginning. We just can't believe they've been with us a few months because they are absolutely perfect! Violet has ice blue eyes and a natural stump tail, and has a beautiful white chest and feet, with subtle speckles on her feet. Violet is average size when compared to her four siblings, we think they'll top out around 35 pounds. Violet is definitely the most confident of the three sisters left with us. We've been able to take the triplets to a few off site events and they do just great. And guess what? We just learned that Violet LOVES to fetch. She went to a social event and ran after the ball until she wore out, and consistently brought it back and dropped it. This is one special pup. She loves love snuggling and we spend a lot of time socializing them so they know what love feels like. We think they are Australian cattle dog (red heeler) and maybe chihuahua mixes. These pups are amazing, not mouthy, very gentle, fun, affectionate, curious and ready to find their furever homes. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
