Welcome Gelato This sweet boy joins us from the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility in Jackson. He was surrendered to the shelter with stomach problems and was grossly underweight. Thanks to the dedicated care of the staff and volunteers, he started to gain some weight and is feeling much better. Gelato is a 3-4-year-old Corso/Mastiff mix who is as sweet as his name! He is a friendly, social boy who has a solid sit command and takes treats very gently. He absolutely loves people and enjoys attention. He will need someone who will continue to work on training as he is strong on leash and is eager to learn more commands. Due to his large size, he is recommended for a home with kids 11 and older. While he did okay on his dog test, he might be too much for most dogs. He is playful and goofy so a dog who could handle his energy. No kitties for Gelato! He is UTD, microchipped and neutered. He will still need plenty of TLC while he gains weight and continues to get healthy. We would love to get him into a home! Please don't let him wait long.
