Courtesy Posting: LAS VEGAS, NV - URGENT, SWEET, PEOPLE FRIENDLY, PETITE CHOW GIRL 'GIGI' IN NEED OF A LOVING, AND RESPONSIBLE, FOREVER HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP - ID #A1361676 AT THE ANIMAL FOUNDATION KILL SHELTER Please help us find a loving, and ideally chow savvy, home or foster and rescue for this wonderful middle aged girl who the shelter has fondly named Gigi. She was found as a stray on 2/23 in matted and neglected condition, weighing just under 32 lbs, with enlarged mammaries, suggesting she had a litter of pups and then was sadly dumped. Since coming in, Gigi has gained 2 lbs already, and is estimated to be at least 7 years of age. Shelter notes from 2/25 state she 'exhibits social behavior with others, shows no concerning behavior at this time, and does not need social training or management'. Gigi is also noted as 'appears healthy', but there is some mention of mild cloudy eyes and moderate dental tartar, so a follow up vet exam is recommended. We were given nice video of Gigi enjoying being pet, and also running in the play yard where she appears to move about well. However, Gigi does have a contagious respiratory infection so she is in isolation and should not be around other dogs until 3/15. As a result, Gigi could not be tested with other dogs, but we are hoping to find placement for her asap before she gets worse, or before the shelter decides to euthanize her like they have so many other chows. Gigi was bathed on 3/25 and did well but is noted as having some sensitivity on her feet- but was never aggressive. She would be spayed for an adopter. This is Gigi's listing link to reach the shelter: https://animalfoundation.com/.../fos.../detail/A1361676/gigi The Animal Foundation may be reached at (702) 955-5901 and ask for her by ID. If you can possibly foster or need further help, please contact robinmorgan@cox.net or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to help find placement. We can also provide a full copy of the notes we were given, if requested. Local parties may also be able to foster by emailing: foster@animalfoundation.com.
