About Parker

This handsome fellow is Parker, an almost 1 year old border collie mix. Parker loves walks, is trained to run alongside a bike, play fetch, loves chewing on nylabones and other chew toys, meeting other people and dogs, working on tricks, jumping through hula hoops, playing with puzzle feeders, sitting on top of people's feet and being very close to them, and chasing his own tail. If you're looking for your next running buddy or hiking partner, Parker is your man! After playing, his favorite thing to do is come up and put his nose on you. Parker is house-broken, crate trained for up to 8-9 hours, has a laundry list of commands and tricks, neutered (December 2024), microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Parker would excel with someone who has ample time to give to both the physical and mental needs of this active and intelligent dog. He is extremely food and toy motivated, and would make a great sport dog prospect - he has been waitlisted for agility classes, but might also do well with lure coursing or fastcat. He would be okay as a single dog if his person was home often to engage with him. If there is another dog in the household, he would be best with an assertive/confident medium/large dog that can keep him in check from getting too obnoxious while playing. He currently lives with a confident cat who holds her own and he respects her, but does chase her on occasion. Parker has not met little kids or small dogs and may be too exuberant for either of those. More photos and videos can be provided to interested parties.
