About Lola

Lola is a 7 month old 55lbs pure Catahoula Leopard dog. She is a Velcro puppy who absolutely loves people. She can be stubborn due to her extreme intelligence, but is very food driven and can be trained easily with enough dedication. She is very excitable and is still learning not to jump on people, so while she is good with adults and kids, she may not be ideal for a family with small children that she may unintentionally injure by jumping up on them. She comes from a home with cats, so she is not aggressive with them, but she does not seem to understand how much smaller they are and can be a little too rough when trying to play with them. She does not seem to have issues with other dogs, however, we have noticed some food aggression, so that would be a concern about a home with another dog. She LOVES to run around and will need a home with a big fenced in backyard and active owners who enjoy walks/hikes/runs. She is crate trained and sleeps in one at night time but she is not great at being kenneled during the day as she has separation anxiety. She would love a home where she is allowed on couches and beds to snuggle. She is the sweetest girl ever, fully vaccinated, but it is not recommended to spay until she is at least 15-18 months old to allow for her hips to fully grow. Spaying too early could cause future hip health problems, so she needs an experienced owner who can handle her going through her periods and keep her from unneutered males especially when in heat. She is very loved, we just cannot keep up with her needs and we have a 6 year old with a growing family. She deserves much more and better than we can give her. There is a rehoming fee to ensure her new owner is responsible, safe, and dedicated to her-this will cover some of her vet fees and care. We have some supplies we can provide as well, including her wire crate, which is very large and appropriate for her size. We hope her new owner(s) will love her just as much as we do.
