Thor is a 7 year old (February 24th) Australian Shepherd/Terrier mix. He weighs about 25 pounds. History: We initially adopted him from The Humane Society in 2018 when he was just 3 months old. He lived along side a female german shepherd for his entire life until recently, his life long friend passed away. For a few years, we also had a cat that he got along well with. He has spent most of his life as an indoor dog, spending sunny days outside and sleeping indoors. (He likes to be warm) Personality: Thor is very loving, attention seeking, incredibly intelligent, and loyal. He loves belly scratches and playing catch. He is very good at playing catch! He is great with other people and kids. Reason for Rehoming: My family has grown considerably since 2018 and my wife and I can no longer provide him with the attention and love he needs. There was a point in time where we took him to dog parks and walks regularly, but it has been a while since he socialized with other dogs. Other Dogs/Pets: Thor can be intimidated by larger dogs, and can very often become defensive when larger dogs enter his personal space. He does well with pets smaller than him. Behaviors: Thor can be anxious at times. Loud sounds like fireworks and distant booms/gunshots WILL cause him to become frantic and he will scratch doors/gates if left outside. His goal is to get inside to escape the loud sounds. 4th of July/New years eve he is left inside with potty breaks in between. Thor can scratch on doors/gates for long periods of time. This can cause him to get splinters on wooden gates, or escape the property if he is able to find a space large enough for him to escape. Thor can also have accidents inside if not let outside frequently. Overall, Thor is in excellent health. He loves to be loved and is hoping to find a calm new home
