About JOEY

Adoption Fee: $595
Chihuahua
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Meet JOEY! JOEY has truly transformed during his foster stay and is just such a loving and thankful little guy. JOEY is a male chihuahua, about 5-7 years old and weighs 7 lbs. He was such a shy, scared, quiet little guy for the first couple of weeks in foster. But thanks to his amazingly loving and caring foster family, he has turned into an affectionate, loving, playful little guy! We don't think he was hardly ever (if ever) allowed outside of the apartment he came from. But now, he LOVES doing little zoomies in the sunshine and is also now fully outdoor potty trained (and will use a pad at night if one is accessible). During JOEY'S first vet appointment, Dr. Santelli at Clinton Veterinary Hospital discovered that he has a heart murmur. We provided him with an echocardiogram which shows that JOEY has a grade IV/VI systolic left apical murmur/Moderate valvular pulmonic stenosis. This is most likely something that he has had lifelong and will continue to live with hopefully symptom-free. He doesn't present any physical symptoms that affect him, and no medication is recommended. Best news of all, he was cleared for his neuter and dental! He's now all fresh and clean and ready for his forever! JOEY doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He is so shy, meek and mild...he is great with other dogs and once he warms up he loves a good snuggle. He uses his crate if he feels scared and needs to retreat, but he has come such a long way and really loves and trusts his human fosters now. This is a very grateful little boy here...and he deserves to feel what it's like to have constant love and stability...not just temporarily, but forever.
