(DOB 04/22/2024) Meet Hayes - The Resilient and Loving Terrier Mix! Are you still waiting to meet the love of your life? Well, this dog literally has your heart on the tip of his nose! Are you looking for a dog who will love you unconditionally? Hayes might just be the one to steal your heart! This sweet terrier mix has had a tough start but is now on the fast track to becoming the loving companion you've been waiting for. Background: Hayes was lost but was found by the most amazing foster. Since then, he's quickly, almost magically, healed both physically and mentally. Despite his unknown past, he has an incredibly gentle, positive spirit and is now ready to share his love with the right family. Personality: Hayes is a 'glass half full' kind of dog. He's patient, sweet, and eager to please, always by your side and ready for any adventure. He loves kids (but they should be older just do to size and love energy) and is tolerant of the playful antics of cats. He also enjoys playing with other dogs and is learning how to socialize more every day. Hayes is incredibly smart - he already knows his name, sit, kennel, and 'here,' and is quickly picking up new skills and manners. He is working through some separation anxiety, which has improved as he's realized he's not going to be abandoned again. He is doing great with anxiety meds and is expected to transition off them once he's settled into a routine with his forever family. Needs and Ideal Home: Hayes would thrive in a home with a patient, loving family that can provide consistency and structure. He would especially do well in a home where someone is home often, like a work-from-home or stay-at-home parent. He's still getting used to car rides, but each trip is getting easier. Hayes is not destructive and would likely do well with free roaming in a home, as long as he has his person around to keep him feeling secure. He is still learning how to play, but he does love a good ball and is eager to engage in fun activities with his family. Also, Hayes does not require a fenced yard and could be a good boy for an apartment, condo or townhome living. Hayes is a loving, gentle dog with a heart full of affection. He is looking for a home where he can continue to thrive, learn, and, most importantly, share his love with the family who will give him the attention and care he deserves. As part of Hayes's $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
