Posie is a sweet and adorable little pup. She loves to play with dogs and chase and do zoomies with them. She is young so her play time with dogs tend to wear her out. She's a good napper. She loves to chew on toys and sniff around. She can be shy with people she first meets. The best way to gain her confidence is to sit on the floor with her and let her sniff and play with you. She is non-reactive to our dogs or to dogs on our walks. She is still learning leash skills but getting better every day. She is not potty trained but making progress on that, also. Posie would do best with another confident pup her size who can show her that the world is not all scary. She can be afraid of sudden, loud noises, but my husband's loud sneezes have scared adults, babies and dogs alike, so that one doesn't count. Since she is still nervous around people, children should be older in the home. She will make a little racket in her crate at night, but after a few stern warnings, she quiets down and goes to sleep. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
