We took in this dog from a home where he was left in the basement or in the garage all day/night because the rental home where the person stayed did not allow animals and she did not want the dog (who was her bf's) around her very young kids so they neglected him, to the point he wasn't being fed and had a horrible flea infestation. He was not allowed to go outside. My sister in law took him in and helped him recover from the fleas and got him to a healthy weight but she also cannot have dogs at her rental home so now we are looking for a foster to take him in. I let him stay at our home starting in December, but I have 5 dogs of our own and 3 are older seniors who have medical issues so I cannot keep him. Our older dogs do not get along with other dogs so i am having to keep everyone separated and its just getting to be too much. I've been trying to search for a home for him while he has been here, with no luck. One woman did like him but he was too big for her other dog she thought. He is dog friendly, he will play nice with our younger female labrador. He has never tried to bite us or become aggressive. He does not chew things, except on his blankets in his cage. For how he was treated, i am honestly quite impressed with his temperament and just happy go lucky attitude he has. He would love nothing anketmore than to sit on the couch with you and watch tv chewing his bone. He will bring his blanket out of his cage when i am cooking in the kitchen and set in somewhere near me and just lay there. He is a sweetie, despite his big head and somewhat scary look to him. He deserves a great family and unfortunately here, he is stuck in a cage for 20-22 hours a day which is not fair to him. Name: Bonsai (like the tree) Age: Approx 3 yrs old Sex: Male not neutered Breed: German Shep/ Pit Mix Color: Black Weight: 68 lbs -Crate trained and does not make messes in the house -Good with other dogs, Unknown with cats - Would be good with older children -We got him up to date on all shots and checked by a vet within the last month. He is overall healthy.
