About Simon

*Bite history and needs training, but very sweet overall* This is Simon, a very handsome male coonhound or Schiller hound mix. Sadly, he was found on the roadside, but was given a clean bill of health by the vet. He is the MOST energetic dog and loves lots of space to run and other companion animals to get his energy out with.He gets along with all dogs, but lets them know that he's the boss! He loves to cuddle, but won't stay in the same place long. He's a blur of fun and energy, quite mischievous (beware of counter surfing!), and very intelligent. Housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands when things are calm, but needs work when there are distractions. Most of the time, he is very sweet and loving. However, some significant training still needs to be done as he has shown aggression in the areas of harness walking and resource guarding. He becomes irritable when wearing a harness and has been known to bite (regular collars are fine). Toys can also an issue, although he's completely fine sharing food. Most of the time, it's a fun game when you try to take something from him he's not supposed to have, but there was one instance he bit me when retrieving a stolen item back from him. Whoever adopts him will need to invest ample time and training.
