About Sonia

Hi, I'm Sonia! I'm a cool, sweet, smart, handsome, healthy girl who loves to hang out with my people. I was born four years ago on Valentine's Day! My short coat is a glossy jet black with a dashing white blaze on my chest. I'm smart, eager to please, food-motivated and receptive to praise, so training sounds like fun to me. Some of my favorite activities are walking in the woods and generally running off some energy, then taking a well-deserved nap. And treats, did I mention treats? I like toys too. I'm pretty easy to please, really. I'm calm, quiet and well-behaved in the house. I like to nap or engage in some squirrel-spotting from a comfy perch on the sofa. I'm not gonna lie, I will bark at strangers approaching. I can be fearful, anxious and a bit on edge around some people no matter where I am. I mean, humans, amirite? But once I've sussed you out, my loving and affectionate side emerges. They also say I'm 'dog-reactive' - I think that just means I'm not always so great with other dogs. That is true. But that said, I do have a few canine friends. Well, two. Okay, one. Cats are an unknown, but let's go with no. No is probably the best plan for me with cats. And squirrels. But you probably don't have a squirrel as a pet, do you? I'd love to find a stable home that can give me plenty of love and attention and training so I can build my confidence. I have a lot of love to give, and I'm told my ears are super soft and nice for petting. Is there room in your heart and home for me? I'd love to be your forever girl!
