About Remy

Meet Remy Remy is an incredibly sweet-natured, lovable, goofball. He is well-adjusted, curious, and outgoing. He adores people and has yet to meet a stranger, even the UPS man is his friend. He is a border collie//retriever mix who weighs around 50 pounds. He is currently being fostered on a farm with two bossy female herding dogs. As a 9-month old pup, he has plenty of energy and loves to romp and play with the girls. His play style is a bit rough and tumble but the girls are quickly teaching him the rules of engagement and he is sensitive to their corrections. He has an affinity for ball play and quickly picked up on the mechanics of fetch. He mostly ignores the livestock and has not exhibited any prey drive. While the other dogs run off after a squirrel, Remy prefers to stick with his foster mom. He does very well off-leash on the farm, staying close, checking in often, and is quick to come when called. He is house-trained and crates well. He is still learning basic commands, leash-walking and good manners, like keeping 4 feet on the floor. He needs a bit of work, but he's smart, responsive, and so eager to please, it's just a matter of time and practice. He's still just a pup after all! Remy is looking for an active family with a fenced yard who will give him plenty of daily exercise. He'd make an excellent hiking companion. We don't know of his history with children and given his energy level, excitability, and playfulness, any children in the household would need to be sturdy enough to withstand his antics and mature enough to help enforce good behavior. Remy spent most of his puppyhood in a shelter situation. Despite his relatively deprived upbringing, Remy is a Very Good Boy with lots of love and charm and character. He tries his very best to please and just wants to do the right thing and be with his people. He needs a bit of guidance, but this one is a keeper! Remy is located in Aurora, OR.
