About Poppy

Poppy is a stunningly beautiful girl with gorgeous and curious pointer eyes. Per DNA, she is half German short-haired pointer and half cattle dog. She is 18 months old weighs and weighs 45 pounds. She's a smart girl who is house broken and crate trained. She knows sit, stay, down, come, go find it, shake, look at me, and leave it (but you better have a tastier treat ready if she's going to leave it for good). She's great on a leash, but her owner should be wary of squirrels, lizards, and bikes and continue working with her not to pull toward them. A walk with her sniff safari as she will show you just how exciting your neighborhood smells. Though she doesn't love the car, she rides well in the back seat, and she does love when the car takes her to the dog park or hikes. This outdoorsy girl is a great adventure companion, great with dogs big and small. She can be wary of strangers when first meeting, but warms up quickly when owner is around. When she plays, she loves rolling around and giving the little pup nips to you hands. Super cute and friendly, but not suitable for kids under 5 who may not appreciate that kind of love from her. For an active breed, she's quite a calm girl who can curl up next to you for naps for hours on end. She tells you she wants pets and love by sitting patiently next to you and pawing at you. It's the cutest thing in the world, second only to her gentle howl when firetruck sirens go by.
