Please meet Oreo. HE IS A HEALTHY ENGLISH BULLDOG ADOPTED OCTOBER 2021 FROM A KILL SHELTER IN MIAMI NOW MIDDLE AGE ESTIMATED TO BE APPROX 7 YRS OLD WEIGHING ABOUT 55 LBS WHO IS NOW LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER LOVING HOME... his current owner that adopted him from the shelter had to downsize to an apartment and has three other dogs and loves him very much but just thinks that maybe he needs more than what she can provide him living in the small apartment and on a budget. She has turned to me to ask her for help to try to find the best loving forever home for Oreo for the rest of his life since I have been doing rescue for 35 years. She is going to hold him until we find him the right home, and we hope that we can find him what he truly needs. He is so adorable with his little unique speckled coloring. He is very sweet dog he loves to go out for walks. He likes to be next to you. He's not a barker...but will bark when he needs to. He loves everyone he meets. He currently lives with three other dogs and also three cats and gets along with them just fine. As far as other dogs, we would just have to try and see how the introduction works. He is also good with children. My biggest addiction is empathy, and it's very hard for me to turn my back on a dog. I've been trying to curtail rescuing, because I was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago. I actually had surgery September 4th and was in the hospital for 2 months due to complications and infections. When they came to me for help find Oreo the home that he needs I just couldn't say no. My goal is to make sure that Oreo finds a final forever loving home. It would be great if Oreo found a home where he could play in the backyard, but being that he is a middle-aged English bulldog as long as you do not have a weight restriction where you live in your apartment building, he would be fine in an apartment as well, as long as he is being walked and getting proper exercise. English Bulldogs overheat very easily in the hot Florida weather so they don't need to be out for too long. Oreo is trained as long as you take him out. My goal is to make sure I get Oreo the home that he needs and deserves with someone who will love him and give him all the care and attention and affection that he deserves for the rest of his life and be able to be committed to him physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. The best thing I could possibly do for him is to find him a forever loving home. I have made the commitment to Oreo and to his current owners to make sure I find him the opportunity to find the right home he needs and deserves. My promise to him now is to make sure I find him the best forever home with one who will love him for the remaining years he has ahead ....an individual or family who will continue to let us know how wonderfully he is doing. He is neutered and microchipped (AND MICROCHIP WILL REMAIN IN MY NAME INDEFINITELY...CAN EXPLAIN WHEN WE SPEAK), heartworm negative & on heartworm & flea/tick prevention & if u adopt him you MUST keep him on both & up to date with yearly check ups & vaccines.
