About Oscar

Welcome, Oscar! Oscar has officially joined our rescue family after spending nearly 300 days waiting in the AHS Newark shelter. This 3-year-old sweetheart is friendly, active, and well-trained-a perfect mix of playful and loving. He gets along great with other dogs and could be a wonderful addition to a home with older kids. We hear Oscar loves to run and hike, so we're looking for an active home where he can enjoy all of his favorite adventures! Right now, Oscar is in boarding, which is still a shelter-like setting. While he gets a warm bed at the kennel and our amazing volunteers take him out twice a day and on weekends for events, it's nothing like having a home and family of his own. A huge thank you to our volunteer Fallyn for giving him his freedom ride and to all the volunteers and staff who loved on this boy for almost a year.
