About Cheshire

Adoption Fee: $25
Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Cheshire has been with our family since she was a kitten but we need to find a new home for her so that she can live out her days comfortably. Poor Cheshire has not been doing well - we recently received a diagnosis of diabetes for her. We are working on getting her insulin dose correct. On top of that she is either randomly getting open sores or she is itchy and licking clean spots on her skin until they bleed. She appears to have joint issue in her front paws, and she has incontinence (unsure whether medical or behavioural). Because of all of these things, she has been losing weight and looking worse for wear in general. We love our Cheshire baby, but with our current finances, we know we can't afford to get her treatments she needs to be comfortable. Her comfort is the most important thing. So... obviously very special needs, and still needs vet care. She is up to date on vaccines but we cannot afford tests and treatments that she will need. We would like to rehome her to someone with experience with elder, special needs cats who can afford to get her the medical care she deserves. Her littermate lives with us and is still so strong and bright, so we want Cheshire to be able to live the same life! I have included current pictures of her as well as pictures from her youth to see how she could recover! She is a cat who very much likes her personal space, but she does live with two others currently - she will leave other cats alone so long as she is left alone. She used to be a lap cat and very much loves soft blankets and soft beds. She also enjoys laying in the sun in a catio! She can be very loyal to an owner and follows us around everywhere. She ADORES cheek scritches.
