About Pumpkin

If you are looking for an absolute sweetheart of a cat, Pumpkin is your gal. She is super affectionate and loves to cuddle near you while you watch a movie, draw, read, or sleep. We rescued Pumpkin from a shelter where the manager didn't really seem to know much about her. Pumpkin is reported to be about 6 or 7 years old, and was previously declawed (front 2 paws) by whomever surrendered her initially. Pumpkin does have issues with pooping next to her litter box. We believe the reason for this is two-fold: 1) Because she is declawed, it is very uncomfortable for her to paw at hard litter to cover her poop, so she avoids that by going on the floor. We are trying some soft crystal litter to see if that helps. And 2) we think that being in such an active home with other animals is too stressful for her and that stress causes the bad behavior. Pumpkin really needs a calm, quiet home where she is the only cat and can roam around freely without loud humans or other animals causing her anxiety and distress. She is a very chill cat, with adorable chirps, and just wants to be loved on in a peaceful environment.
