About Maisie

Maisie is a sweet and affectionate pit bull mix who thrives in the great outdoors. She will turn three in April and weighs approximately 44 lbs. Maisie is happiest when she has plenty of space to roam-whether exploring the woods on her own or joining you on a hike. She's an excellent adventure companion and prefers a rural setting where she can enjoy nature. She loves sunbathing on the deck or driveway and comes inside to sleep and when temperatures drop below 40 degrees. She is friendly with other dogs in her pack and loves to wrestle with them She's uninterested in the horses in the neighboring pasture. but she has not been around cats-though she would likely chase them! She has been exposed to babies and toddlers and has done well with them. Maisie is crate-trained, great in the car, and good on a leash. Maisie prefers a home with another dog and with acreage to explore rather than city life or an apartment. Maisie is very loving and enjoys snuggling with her person, but she does experience separation anxiety. She does best with someone who is home often and can provide the attention and companionship she craves. She is currently on a daily anxiety medication to help with this and has been making progress. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations and heartworm prevention. I will also provide her crate. I adopted Maisie when she was six months old, and while I adore her, I am retiring soon and planning to travel to places where she cannot come along. Because of her need for consistent companionship, I want to find her a loving home with someone who has the time and space to give her the life she deserves. She would be a perfect match for a homebody with land, another dog and a love for the outdoors. If you are looking for a devoted, affectionate dog to be by your side, Maisie could be the perfect fit!
