About Maya Louise Jane

Bulldog
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Tucson, AZ - Pima County I have a beautiful English Bulldog. Maya came to live with me about 15 months ago. I was told she may be toy aggressive but had lived with many big and small dogs at the foster home and no one had ever seen any signs of aggression. After 15 months I am absolutely heartbroken that I must rehome Maya. All animals deserve to be safe and loved. Maya will be 7 years old in May! She's a big girl, weighing in around 60 pounds. She has no medical issues. Maya needs a home where she is the only child. Absolutely no other animals. Because of her anxiety I would also stipulate she can't be in a home with children under 15 years old. Maya would do best in a situation where her people are retired, work from home or only work part time due to separation anxiety. Wanna lay on the couch and snooze? Maya is right with you. Time to clean dishes after dinner? Maya will literally sit next to you while falling asleep to the point she will eventually topple over. Have to use the restroom? No problem, Maya will lead the way. Wanna walk to the mailbox and back? Maya would love to join you. Maya doesn't pass much gas but she will burp right in your face. What gets any better than that? Maya needs a loving, stable, low energy home with an experienced, patient bulldog owner. She loves to ride in the car. Maya loves her people and nothing makes her happier than being with them, all the time. With all that said, will she act like she can't hear you? Absolutely! Will she side eye you? Frequently! Because she's never really been taken care of Maya's not a big fan of self care but over the last 15 months she's grown to tolerate having her face, ears and butt cleaned plus her nails trimmed. She also enjoys a bath at about a 70% level now. Even after all this time with me, she will still flinch if you move to pet her head. She's eventually listens very well but I find myself giving a little extra time if I'm going to leave the house. Maya has never tore anything up but she does go in her crate when I leave the house. She will definitely be hard of hearing at that time. It's to be understood because she use to spend ALL her time in a crate. Normally, I'll give her a kiss or a little nudge toward her crate and in she goes. Occasionally she is super stubborn and gets a sing song good girl with a small treat. But, as I mentioned, you'll need a few extra minutes to get out the door ... unless she's coming with you. In that case, she moves pretty fast. There's tons more I can tell you about Maya but I'll wrap it up for now. Maya is not just a dog, she is an amazing being who deserves to be a Princess. If you think you could treat Maya to a Queen level every day, I'd love to talk to you. If you aren't 100% committed this may not be the baby for you. Please understand Maya deserves nothing less after what she's gone through. Please understand I am determined to find her forever home and am committed to helping her achieve her best life. Thanks, Susie 724-674-4928
