About Arlo(Winston)

WELCOME BACK! The older boxer that we know as Arlo, who now goes by Winston, is back. Even though he got along with dogs here at the rescue, he didn't like the other boxer at his new home. They worked with trainers and tried everything they could think of to make it work. They said he is a great snuggler and a joy to have in their home. Here's what his owners said about him. He is a mellow guy, and does well with a few other humans we have had to the house. No issues at all. Love bug. He craves to be with the humans. Wants to sit next to them and be touching. Loves his toys, especially a teddy bear he sometimes cuddles with. Plays indoor ball, roll it and he brings it back. Hide treats and he will search them out. Likes the snow more than I anticipated. but does not like rain. He does not get anxious when he's left alone in his safe place (currently our dining room) so he can hear activity. When we had to have him on the basement level, we either left the TV on or Jazz for pets. He gives little warning (huffing and pacing) when he needs potty. This is your two minute countdown (lol). Be patient and forgiving�'�|�'�|. This is new to him. We seem to have got him to small walk routine after food, and take him out for 1pm as a midstep. Also before bed as a precaution. Needs to be a walk really, as our fenced area did not seem to work for him to go there. He sleeps all night now 10.30pm-5-7am. He loves the kibble we set him with (1.5 scoops at 5.30 -7am and 2 scoops between 5-6pm). He is super on the leash. Will hug your leg now he's taught. The clicker has success in getting his attention. He is very treat motivated, have managed to get him to learn sit for treat.
