About Frankie

Frankie is an adorable 1 year old AKC red tri Pembroke welsh corgi female who is full of energy, play and very sweet. Unfortunately despite a year of working with her, she is not suitable for our family. She loves playing with older kids and is so friendly with everyone who she meets. She is excellent with the vet, riding in the car, nails clipped and bathing. We have 4 toddlers in our home and despite being around them since she was 8 weeks old, she has always shown fear of them. She will play with them (more herding style play) but she gets very nervous and exhibits fear aggression because of it. She is also food aggressive with our other corgi (female) and is fear aggressive with her as well even though the older corgi is not at all aggressive or dominant. Frankie is a wonderful pup but she is not suitable for a family with very young children and would benefit being with a trainer or with an experienced owner who can dedicate the time to training her with guidance. She has been exposed to the farm, she has great recall and is respectful of our property lines (she was e collar trained) She is a VERY barky dog. Play, asking to go in and outside- all bark. She lets you know anytime she needs anything. She took a while to house break and has an accident probably once every 3-4 weeks but is very good about holding her Bladder. She is NOT crate trained. It feels like a huge defeat choosing to rehome her. We love and adore her but It is in HER best interest to have a more involved owner and someone who can work with her the way she needs. I feel so bad that she is so anxious all the time. If she does not find a home next month she will be going to be spayed in April. Willing to waive adoption fee for someone who has a contract to have her spayed within 3 months of rehoming.
