Are you looking for a dog with the following traits? SWEET Affectionate Calm Quiet Funny,/Silly/Goofy Playful Dog-friendly Rides well in a car House-trained Energetic at times Lovable Gentle Sensitive Guard dog (see note**) **Kibbles will NOT protect your home from human visitors but she will quietly come to the door with you to check out who has arrived. If you are looking for protection from squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks, she will faithfully keep an eye on them from an interior window. Kibbles, a sweet-natured 3 year old, is 60 lbs and just about perfect. For the last year, she has been passed over again and again. She is curious but unsure about new people and will likely take a little extra time to warm up. She has been working on her confidence and once you have her trust she is so loving. She adores being close to people and receiving affection. Her signature move is to lay down on her side, calmly waiting for belly rubs. You will often find yourself feeling relaxed, sitting next to her while stroking her soft fur. She will stay off your furniture if that is your preference. Alternatively, she will happily cuddle with you on your couch or bed. She spent a few weeks in a household with children aged 7 and 9 and did well as she loves being near her people as well as being doted on. As Kibbles is sensitive she can occasionally be startled by unexpected noises or movements. She has been known to spring out a room if there is a sudden loud noise or if something falls over. She will slowly come back to reassess the situation and settle down again. Kibbles arrived in Vermont from Texas in the fall. She has adapted well to the colder temperatures and loves to play in the snow. In Texas, she was known as being a social butterfly. She happily took part in doggie playgroups. However when she came to Vermont, she needed time to adapt to all of the changes. She made it clear she was not interested in meeting new dogs. After several weeks decompressing with her foster family, she is loving making new dog friends again! She has met dogs both on leash and off and has been calm and playful. She has had a couple of trips to the dog park and loves playing chase. Kibbles is very speedy and she has a very goofy, bouncy, playful way about her. If you need to head out, Kibbles will happily come along. If you have to run an errand and leave her in the car, she will curl up on the seat and calmly wait until you return. She also likes taking walks and going for runs. If you can't bring her along with you, she prefers to spend her alone time outside of a crate (being crated causes her to chew anxiously on whatever is in her crate - blankets, towels, the crate tray). She does well being left 'loose' at home until you return as long as footwear and gloves are out of reach. If you work from home, Kibbles will hang out quietly and calmly by your desk or she will find her toys to play with if she gets bored. Kibbles will need extra attention on walks to learn to better manage her prey drive around small animals like squirrels and chipmunks. We do not recommend her going to a home with cats or other small animals. This beautiful girl is fully house-trained. She is adored by both foster families she has stayed with. She is an amazing pup who is ready to be a permanent fixture in a loving household. https://www.vermontenglishbulldogrescue.com/non-bulldog-application/
