Say hello to Summer! Summer is currently being fostered and is searching for her forever home! She is medium size and around 1.5 years old. We, her foster family, believe that she is Dutch Shepherd mix given her features and coat coloring, though her records say she is an Australian Shepherd mix (could be because she has an adorable nubby tail!). She's very affectionate, curious, sweet and playful. She LOVES toys and chew bones and is very food motivated and smart, therefore easy to train; she (usually) comes when called, sits on command, etc. She's a very energetic young dog and we believe that she would absolutely crush an agility course given how agile she is, or maybe even some herding classes. She gets along with the two male dogs in the household and mostly gets along with other dogs, though please know that she is an Alpha Female. Summer would do best in a home where she would be the only canine companion, or in a home with an Alpha Male (ours are very beta/docile and she takes advantage of them). We'd also prefer to place her in a home with a large, securely enclosed back yard, and one without any cats or small children given her herding tendencies (don't want her herding any kids!). Summer is already microchipped, spayed, tested, house and crate-trained, and on preventions. She will need leash training. If interested in submitting an application to give Summer a forever home, please email the rescue (MAS Rescue/Mary's Mutts) directly at marysmutts05@gmail.com.
