About Benji

Benji is an 8-year-old, 8-pound Maltese with a heart full of love and a spirit full of energy. While he may look like a soft, fluffy ball of cuteness, this little guy has the heart of a terrier! Cats, squirrels and bunnies beware - Benji is on the case! Originally purchased from a breeder by an elderly woman living in an assisted care facility, Benji has had quite a journey. His owner developed dementia and hasn't been able to properly care for him in years. He's now in the care of a foster family. Benji is used to being the center of attention, as an only dog in his previous home, and while he's adjusting to living with other dogs in his foster home, he'd still prefer to be the one who gets all the love and affection. Benji requires daily medication. He takes of a 3.6mg Apoquel pill to manage his allergies which costs around $40 a month. His eyes don't produce any tears so he gets Cyclosporin eye drops twice daily to keep his eyes moist which cost about $30/month. As a hypoallergenic dog, Benji will need regular grooming to keep his coat in top condition. But don't worry, this little guy will reward you with endless snuggles, playful moments, and lots of love. Benji is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and just had a dental cleaning, so he's ready to find his forever home!
