Sweet Sunflower radiates sunshine and joy, and she's not afraid to show the world her inner happiness. She has diabetes and requires a little extra care, but it doesn't stop her from running and jumping and loving life. Our beautiful, golden pup's tail wags at the slightest smile in her direction and she will beam her own bright, playful smile right back. She has not met a human or dog that she doesn't want to be best friends with, and she knows how to work it, with her little butt wiggles and her soft, sweet eyes. She's also a great kisser and snuggler. Sunflower's past has not been a walk in the park, most likely used as a breeder dog and as her health declined put out the streets to fend for herself, thankfully ending up in the shelter. That was probably her best home ever, because she immediately loved everyone there and was a happy little pup. She was emaciated and in poor condition, and was diagnosed with diabetes. She has gained weight and is now a healthy, bouncy pup who requires insulin daily, which she takes like it's just no big deal at all. While she will be a lifelong diabetic, her specialness really comes from her beautiful, shining nature, her love of everyone and willingness to share whatever she has, and her contagious love of life. Now that Sunflower is feeling healthy and well nourished, she is a very athletic pup. Her preferred family activities would be hiking, running, any sports, and eating. Did we mention she will do anything for a string bean, or a broccoli floret (since veggies are the healthiest snack for her). Our Sunflower is ready to be a wonderful family pup to her very special humans.
