Apollo is such a GOOD BOY, its not easy to write this up and eventually part with him. But he'll be a better fit in another home with yard space and a more active lifestyle. If that sounds like you, look no further. Apollo is a truly amazing dog. We adopted the handsome Australian Cattle Dog mix from Philadelphia ACCT last September. He was 25lbs and they told us they thought he was full grown, tho undernourished. Nope. Today, 6 months later, Apollo is an energetic 50lbs of muscle, much bigger than we expected or can handle in our Philly home. But his size is now stable and he is in good health, neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated. Apollo fits the breed standard, is such a funny and sassy guy, and is the smartest dog I've ever known. He is crate-trained, leash-trained, good with flat or prong-collar, house-broken, knows basic obedience commands (sit, down, come) and a few-not-so-basic ones (place, out.) Apollo is also an athlete and loves showing off - especially leaping to catch a soft disc, epic tug-o-war and bossing around his herding ball. He also likes to join me on jogs, solve puzzles, find hidden treats, learn new commands, chomp on his bones, and listen to soothing classical music. He is fiercely loyal, protective of the family, and barks at strange noises. Apollo has come a long way from when we adopted him but still has some habits we are working to improve. He guards food and so we've taken to feeding him in his crate to avoid any issues. He is also sensitive to loud noises and sometimes fearful of other dogs and strangers. We avoid the dog park. Somewhat dominant, high-energy and teenage (we think he's 14th months old), Apollo is not a dog for beginners. But he is incredibly capable and also very handsome. Did I mention he is a VERY GOOD BOY?
