LOCATION: Florence, KY DOB: 08/23/2022 Meet Beau, a gentle giant with a heart of gold. At 149lbs, this sweet girl has spent the last two years in a loving home, getting along with other dogs, big and small, and forming strong bonds with her family. However, due to some recent tension with a female resident pittie over ball play, Beau's owner is seeking a compassionate foster or foster-to-adopt home to help her live her best life. Beau has had three minor incidents with the pittie, but each time she's shown her good nature by immediately backing down when verbally corrected. Her owner feels uncomfortable leaving her alone with the pittie while traveling and believes a change of environment could help Beau thrive in a calmer, more relaxed setting. Beau has lived harmoniously with two neutered male dogs, and she's always been friendly with other dogs-male or female, big or small. So we believe that the issues with the pittie are not a reflection of her true character, but more likely due to a love of playing ball and perhaps a misunderstanding with her canine housemate. Beau is housebroken, leash-trained, and trustworthy when left loose in the house. She loves car rides and enjoys basic obedience training. She's a fantastic, well-mannered companion, and her playful spirit will bring endless joy to any family. She is slow to warm up to men but does so quickly once she feels comfortable, offering a sweet 'squeak' when she's nervous. With kids, Beau is a total lovebug, gentle and kind-hearted. Beau's ideal foster or foster-to-adopt home would be one where she can be the only dog or live with calm, well-matched dogs. She thrives in a loving environment and deserves to feel safe, secure, and cherished. We believe she will continue to show her true sweet and gentle nature once the current tension with the pittie is resolved.
