Nova A734846 11 Month Old Female German Shepherd URGENT Needs Rescue By 2/22/25 Nova arrived as a stray roaming dog 12/28/24 with prong collar and leash still attached. Nova displays high levels of barrier reactivity in kennel and leash reactivity/fear aggression towards other dogs when on leash, displays fearful behavior off leash with other dogs but has been able to participate in large dog playgroup. Nova has also displayed selective fearful behavior towards individuals, instances of barking and lunging at select members of staff depending on environmental variables of approach and/or pressure. Nova has routine instances of observed limping/lameness fluctuating between all four limbs, exam and radiographs produced no significant findings or evidence of breaks/fractures. Fluctuations in limping/lameness also cause discomfort to Nova causing dog to discontinue walks and drop directly to ground, her condition may be related to self harm caused from kennel stress with possibility of panosteitis or soft tissue injuries. Nova displays continued high levels of FAS (fear/anxiety/stress) in kennel barking/lunging/jumping with potential for injury/self harm. Nova 's leash reactivity/fear aggression is escalating at shelter and remains unpredictable, causing public safety risk to staff/volunteers/public. Nova is declining medically and behaviorally at shelter, she needs rescue placement or adoption by Saturday February 22nd 2025.
