Shelter may consider a chow savvy home. SHELTER IS FULL AND HE GOES ON EUTH LIST NEXT. We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster (or foster-to-adopt) and/ or rescue for this handsome younger looking chow boy estimated to be two years young. He may also be considered for adoption by a chow savvy home. Now named L'ours aka Larry by the LA City (West Valley) shelter, he was found as a stray, but his owner never came. The shelter originally told us he needed time to decompress. He was very scared to be leashed early on, although once leashed, he was very gentle and walked okay. And by 2/23, shelter notes state he could be easily leashed, and was very playful in the yard. But due to the initial leash reactivity, with a full shelter, he was unfortunately placed on the urgent list already, so he is expected to be on the euthanasia list very soon. A volunteer sent us nice video showing he enjoys pets once he trusts someone. He accepts pets on both the head and back but it is recommended to go slow. He is however scared when backed into in his kennel, or with barking dogs. Please watch his sweet videos we have accepting keys and taking treats gently. Larry seems like he will continue to thrive outside a scary shelter environment. But we need to find a chow savvy home or foster and rescue asap.
