AVERY IS URGENT!!!!! BDRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity that accepts no fees when helping individuals or other rescues. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the animals. If you'd like to help us continue our mission, please donate at: https://www.blinddogrescue.org/donate-1. Name: Avery Age: 9 years Breed: Boston Terrier, approx. 15 pounds Sex: Female (not spayed) Location: Austin, TX Avery is a sweet girl that needs a new home. Vet Info: Avery is not up to date with her vaccinations, has not had a HW test, and is not spayed. She went blind about 2 years ago from cataracts. Dog Info: Avery is a purebred from a breeder but the owner no longer has any contact information for the breeder. The owner will be moving at the end of the month and needs to find Avery a new home as she will not be able to take her where she is going. She is housebroken but also will go on a wee pad when necessary and she is leash trained. Avery is a sweet girl but don't mess with her food! She is very possessive of it. If another dog gets too close she will give them 'the look' to tell them to stay away. For this reason, the owner feeds her in her crate. Otherwise, she has no signs of aggression at all. She knows the commands no, go and treats. She is good around men, women and children of all ages as well as male and female dogs and cats. She is healthy but does have thunder/fireworks/gunshot anxiety. Her favorite thing to do is go for rides in the car. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them. These dogs are with their owners and are not in BDRA foster homes. We do our best to screen these dogs, but make no guarantees regarding the information posted.** Please email [email protected] if you are interested in this sweetheart. Please know that we will ask for a vet reference.
