Needing to rehome our girl, Isla. Located in Jacksonville, FL We adopted Isla almost 2 years ago from a shelter. Approximately 3-4 year old female spayed 55lbs Catahoula mix. We love her very much, but despite making lots of progress with training, she is too intense for our other 2 senior dogs and it's become a problem in our home. Does fine with our cranky cat who bosses her around. She is active but also a really good snuggly couch potato. She currently has a large fenced in yard( 1/4 acre) and will need a fenced in yard if rehomed. Ideally rehomed with someone who has experience with Catahoulas or similar breeds. She loves to chase lizards and loves to be outside. She is great in her kennel. No storm or noise phobias. In an ideal home, she'd be the only dog, although she has gotten along well and very playful with other young male dogs. She's had very minimal exposure to small children while with us, but I'm guessing she'd probably be too big and klutzy with small kids. She is independent and strong, but she will also be your absolute best friend and make you feel safe. Current on vaccinations and monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Happy to provide more prevention for her. Not looking for any money for her, just a good home.
